Like most eyewear frames, EnChroma frames may contain stainless steel hardware components such as wire, hinges and screws. Stainless steel is an alloy of iron, chromium and nickel. Metallic nickel has been classified as a possible carcinogen and is on the Prop 65 warning list.
What testing does EnChroma perform on its frames?EnChroma uses an independent third party laboratory to test its frames and lenses for compliance with international standards including EN 16128:2015. EnChroma frames are compliant with the requirement for upper limit of nickel migration as specified in paragraph 1(b) and (c) of entry 27 of Annex XVII to the REACH. REACH is a European Union regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals. However, the REACH is not recognized by the State of California. NOTICE: EnChroma glasses are an optical assistive device for enhancement of color discrimination in persons with color blindness; they are not a cure for color blindness. Results vary depending on the type and extent of color vision deficiency per individual. EnChroma does not endorse the use of the glasses to pass occupational screening tests such as the Ishihara test: these tests may be required in occupations where public safety is at risk such as public transport operators, electricians and first responders. Wearing of any filtering lens including colored contact lenses during test administration is prohibited and may invalidate the accuracy of the results.
My husband loves them. Just need to find indoor ones now.
The Wonders of Color
I like wearing these sunglasses they give me a little more contrast and everything that I see in even a friend of mine that is not colorblind like the way things look
I am colorblind (red/green) & received a pair of Colorado style outdoor glasses as a gift. For 72 years I have not seen colors as they really are & it’s a blessing having these glasses. Currently it’s winter, so there’s a lot of drab where I live but, I’m looking forward to seeing spring in a new way for sure. I am satisfied.
The Outdoor Colorado model was what I purchased as a Christmas gift for our son in law who has been colorblind from birth. He kept repeating "crazy" and "amazing" over and over again. He has made our daughter happy. He deserves the joy that colors bring. ZERO regret in this purchase. I'd so do it again! He's an outdoor lover; especially fishing and hunting. I can't wait for him to look inside his tackle box!!! Also, he said he could never see a blood trail unless it was in the snow...these should step up the tracking! People don't understand what it is like to never see defined colors. If you love them; buy them these glasses! He even likes the style I chose! yayyyyy!
