A whole new colorful world!!!

Ellis frames, outdoor lenses are comfortable and provide fantastic visual improvement of all things red and a sharper view of all other colors.

I’ve always wondered what people that are not color blind sees.  Now with these new glasses that I’ve received, gave me a new sight on things.  The colors are more brighter and now I can see the different shades of colors.  Thanks!

What really is the color red?

Well the testimonials do not do the ability to see red justice. The vibrancy and richness that is new to me was nothing short of amazing. I wish I had these in medical school, it would have been so much easier. Thanks so much , I will be buying indoor glasses as well. There Are so many red things that I’ve never noticed before out in public and in the world. Cannot wait to see the same affect indoors. Thank you for this fantastic opportunity. Purchased Cx3 outdoor sunglasses.

Life changing experience

Bought the glasses for my father's birthday. He immediately started seeing colors he haven't seen before and finally started differencing between certain colors when they were near each other. A very heartwarming experience that all of us will be remembering for the rest of our life, thank you enchroma :)

Fall colors

I've known of my color vision deficiency since childhood. It runs in the family. Over time, I have learned to get by. I can identify many colors by looking really hard and taking context into account, and I have friends, colleagues, and family to help me whenever I really need to accurately name, choose or distinguish difficult colors. Overall, it was never a big problem for me – unlike e.g. my maternal grandfather, who was called stupid by his teachers for drawing in the wrong colors, and who had wanted to become a train driver but was not allowed to, for fear he would confuse the signal colors.

But I had been dismissing talk about "glowing fall colors" as nonsensical hyperbole. While the colors of fall did indeed appeared pleasant to me, they were nowhere near so special as to justify how much they are often romanticised,

I heard of Enchroma quite some time ago, but I doubted the strength of the effect. I live in Europe, so the shipping costs and import duties would even make taking advantage of the generous return policy an expensive venture. So I mostly forgot about them. Until a few weeks ago, when I got married. One of the presents I got was an Enchroma gift card. So I more or less had to order a pair of Enchroma glasses. Since taking the test on the Enchroma website diagnosed me as strong protan, I decided on "Cx3 Sun SP" outdoor glasses, in an "Ellis" frame.

When I received my Enchroma glasses, the first chance I got to try them on was after dark, indoors, under cheap LED lighting. I was thoroughly underwhelmed: Some colors looked a little different, but that was it, just different, not a bit more beautiful or easier to distinguish. I had always had trouble telling the blue and purple pieces of some board game apart, and they remained as indistinguishable as ever.

The next day I got a chance to wear the my new Enchroma glasses outside while the sun was still out. I was shocked and awed! The yellow, orange and red leaves on the trees were almost unrealistically vibrant, as if someone had opened the world in some photo editing software and turned up the saturation slider. Suddenly, fruit on the trees was standing out glaringly, visible from several yards away, where they had previously been different from the foliage only in shape and I could pick them out only by looking deliberately and attentively. I literally had to pause every few steps, take in the next bit of beautifully red, orange and yellow foliage, and marvel at the beauty of nature, before walking on for a bit.

From that day on, whenever I've had a chance to leave the house in daylight, I've made sure to wear my Enchroma glasses, and whenever I walk somewhere, I deliberately choose a route where I can see trees, bushes or vines along the way. I don't care if walking around with sunglasses on a gloomy October day makes me look silly to neighbors and strangers. Seeing the colors is well worth it!

Many more red, yellow, brown and orange things look a lot brighter and often also more pleasant, for example some kinds of varnished wood, some flowers, many types of fruit and vegetables, bricks, painted concrete walls, and shingled roofs. Even the dirt on an unpaved road or a harvested field often takes on a beautiful reddish tone where it was previously just a dull, nondescript brown. Many previously just plain red or yellow plastic objects (childrens' toys, buckets, watering cans, recycling/trash bins) look ridiculously gaudy, as do some red cars. And some human skin tones look outright weird. Still, the overall effect is decidedly positive! And besides making the world more beautiful to look at, which alone is, in my opinion, well worth the price, there is even an actually useful feature: In the grocery store's produce section, picking out the ripe tomatoes, mangoes or pears has gotten a lot easier.

Currently, I don't want the fall season to ever end, so I can always continue to look at those gorgeous, magnificent, wonderful colors. But at the same time, I also can't wait to see what springtime colors are going to look like, and I have yet to look at a rainbow with my Enchroma glasses on.

My recommendation, if you are considering to try out Enchroma glasses, is to do it on a sunny fall day, outside, in a place where there are trees, bushes or vines with red, orange and yellow leaves. Some of the most striking ones include maple, barberry and five-finger vine. Don't go too close, keep a few yards distance to enhance the effect. Those leaves will easily win a high rank in the list of the most beatiful things you have ever seen, and you'll never again feel as indifferent about fall colors as I did up until recently!
