How do I send EnChroma my prescription?

After you have placed the order for prescription glasses, email your prescription to rx@enchroma.com

Make sure your prescription includes your Pupillary Distance (PD) – the distance in millimeters between your pupils. Ask your doctor to write this information on your prescription, otherwise they may omit this information. Missing information will delay the production of your prescription order.

Yes, please use our Fit to Frame service to place your order for glasses made with a custom frame.

What is the return policy for prescription glasses?

The same 60-day return policy applies to orders for prescription glasses.

Why are prescription glasses more expensive?

Prescription lenses are custom manufactured to the specific requirements of your eyes.  This involves extra labor costs and special machinery.  In addition, if the glasses are returned the lenses cannot be used by anyone else.

Is there a way to try the glasses before ordering a prescription pair?

Yes, you can purchase our “Over Rx” glasses, the EnChroma Receptor – then, after evaluation, return the trial glasses to us and place an order for the desired prescription pair.  Alternatively you can go to any of our EnChroma Authorized Retailers.

Can I get the EnChroma lenses as a clip-on?

Sorry, clip-ons are currently not available.  Please subscribe to our email list to be informed of new product developments.

Where can I go to try EnChroma glasses near me?

EnChroma glasses are available from select eye care professionals (optometrists and opticians) at locations across the USA and Canada.

To check for a location near you, please consult our retailer list: EnChroma Retailers.

What are the return policies of your retailers?

Our retailers are independently operated businesses which have their own policies which may be different from those of EnChroma.

How do I choose which lens to purchase first?

First, take our EnChroma Color Vision Test (takes 1-2 minutes) to learn your type and level of color blindness.

If you are a first time purchaser, we recommend trying the EnChroma® outdoor glasses first. Our EnChroma outdoor lenses, the EnChroma Sun and EnChroma Sun SP (strong protans) are designed for bright sunlight to maximize the delivery of clear, vibrant color. Lower light conditions naturally provide less color saturation and vibrancy. Therefore, the EnChroma Indoor glasses are ideal as a second pair for indoor and screen time activities. Refer to our Lens Guide for more detail on lens features and options. If purchasing EnChroma as a gift, check out our Gift Guide.

Do EnChroma glasses provide UV Protection?

Yes, all of our lenses block 100% of UVA and UVB radiation from sunlight.

How do I know if your glasses will fit?

Our glasses are fit-tested on a wide variety of face shapes to fit well on as many people as possible.

I need an extra large size, which style is best?

The Monterey, Atlas, and Canyon are styles recommended for an extra large fitting size.

I need a small size, which style is best?

The Colby and Derby fit well on smaller faces.

How do I adjust the fit of my glasses?

We recommend taking your glasses to a local optical store to have them adjusted by a licensed optician. Most stores will perform these adjustments at no cost or for a reasonable fee.

Where can I find frame measurements?

Measurements can be found printed on most frames inside the temple arm.

Can I use these lenses to pass a color blindness test such as the Ishihara test?

EnChroma does not endorse or recommend attempting to use our products to pass the Ishihara plate test or any other color blindness test.  These tests are designed to detect color blindness in a clinical setting.  Wearing of tinted or colored lenses is NOT permitted on any color blindness test and will invalidate the result. EnChroma glasses are designed to improve color discrimination in real-world conditions.  The best way to evaluate EnChroma glasses is to go outside and explore the world and to see what you see differently.

Can I use EnChroma glasses while driving?

EnChroma glasses provide the correct color and brightness of traffic signals according to ANSI Z80.3 standards, and users often report the colors of traffic signals are significantly easier to interpret with our glasses.  However, the strong color-enhancement effect of the glasses could cause visual distractions or other unexpected side effects that could pose a hazard while driving.  Therefore we are required per FDA labelling regulations to warn users that our glasses are not for use while driving. Please consult an eye care professional for more information about the visual requirements of eyewear intended for use while driving.

Can I use vision care insurance to buy our glasses?

EnChroma glasses are not a covered benefit in any insurance plans, but may be eligible for a general prescription or sunglass benefit. We can provide an itemized receipt after purchase to use when applying for reimbursement, however we are unable to advise you on your insurance benefits.

Is EnChroma VSP approved?

EnChroma is not affiliated with VSP Vision Service Plan.

What is a flexible spending account?

A flexible spending account (FSA) is a program that allows you to set aside money (before taxes) for specific health care expenses. If you’re unsure whether or not you have an FSA, please check with your insurance company.

What can I purchase with my FSA?

EnChroma accepts FSA dollars for all prescription eyewear purchases, as long as your FSA or HSA (health savings account) card is affiliated with a major credit card.
