Like most eyewear frames, EnChroma frames may contain stainless steel hardware components such as wire, hinges and screws. Stainless steel is an alloy of iron, chromium and nickel. Metallic nickel has been classified as a possible carcinogen and is on the Prop 65 warning list.
What testing does EnChroma perform on its frames?EnChroma uses an independent third party laboratory to test its frames and lenses for compliance with international standards including EN 16128:2015. EnChroma frames are compliant with the requirement for upper limit of nickel migration as specified in paragraph 1(b) and (c) of entry 27 of Annex XVII to the REACH. REACH is a European Union regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals. However, the REACH is not recognized by the State of California. I can’t thank Enchroma enough for bringing such joy to my special needs son. Although he is non-verbal his expression said it all. He stayed in the backyard for 2 hours with pure joy on his face as he stared at every flower, tree and the beautiful sky.
the glasses are a christmas gift for my 11 year old grandson so i’ll update my review after. they do look nice and arrived quickly
My 9-year-old son just saw greens for the very first time. I couldn't help but cry with joy!
My son is really happy with them, totally a new world of colours for him, before all was pretty much in light pink colours and of course brown
One star is for the orange that my son was able to recognize after he puts his lens on for the first time. It was green just a minute before. The second star is for his completely new friend, mr. purple. The third is for his surprise. The fourth for his face going to school with his "cool glasses" that converts something he have suffered for in something special. And the last is for the colors he still confuses. If you are waiting for miracles you better try to understand what color blindness really mean. As I told to my son, his new glasse are not "to see", but to have a more rich and, of course, color vivid alternative to what he see. Is a matter to have a choice, that is what Enchroma means to us
