Like most eyewear frames, EnChroma frames may contain stainless steel hardware components such as wire, hinges and screws. Stainless steel is an alloy of iron, chromium and nickel. Metallic nickel has been classified as a possible carcinogen and is on the Prop 65 warning list.
What testing does EnChroma perform on its frames?EnChroma uses an independent third party laboratory to test its frames and lenses for compliance with international standards including EN 16128:2015. EnChroma frames are compliant with the requirement for upper limit of nickel migration as specified in paragraph 1(b) and (c) of entry 27 of Annex XVII to the REACH. REACH is a European Union regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals. However, the REACH is not recognized by the State of California. NOTICE: EnChroma glasses are an optical assistive device for enhancement of color discrimination in persons with color blindness; they are not a cure for color blindness. Results vary depending on the type and extent of color vision deficiency per individual. EnChroma does not endorse the use of the glasses to pass occupational screening tests such as the Ishihara test: these tests may be required in occupations where public safety is at risk such as public transport operators, electricians and first responders. Wearing of any filtering lens including colored contact lenses during test administration is prohibited and may invalidate the accuracy of the results.
I bought my first pair of EnChroma glasses over six years ago and they truly were a revelation. Just this month I bought a new pair and I can’t believe how the technology has improved…I am seeing more colors more intensely than ever before! Thank you!!
The glasses are a great fit, and I have a wide head. The prescription and the progressives make these the perfect car glasses for me. I am color blind both greens and browns and blue and purple. The correction is noticeable especially for the ability for me to see the color purple.
It's amazing to me how beautiful the fall time is. Something I've never truly been able to experience until now. I'd also like to add that the quality of the glasses surpassed my expectations. Overall: 5/5 will recommend to anyone with colorblindness.
I bought the Ellis Cx3 Sun SP outdoor glasses as a gift for someone with a mild protan color blindness. They were absolutely amazing! I was so nervous after reading that the glasses didn’t work for some people or that they took some time to adjust, but they worked instantly. We were actually moved to tears as he was able to see colors for the first time in his life. It’s currently the beginning of autumn and the trees in our area are changing colors. He’s never been able to see any changes in the leaves before and the first words out of his mouth when he put the glasses on where “The trees look like they’re on fire!” All I can say is thank you for this wonderful and beautiful experience. It was the most incredible gift I could ever give someone.
Got these for my father in law who is 60 and never seen color the reaction he had was truly amazing. He is seeing the world the way everyone should. Best money I have ever spent.
