Like most eyewear frames, EnChroma frames may contain stainless steel hardware components such as wire, hinges and screws. Stainless steel is an alloy of iron, chromium and nickel. Metallic nickel has been classified as a possible carcinogen and is on the Prop 65 warning list.
What testing does EnChroma perform on its frames?EnChroma uses an independent third party laboratory to test its frames and lenses for compliance with international standards including EN 16128:2015. EnChroma frames are compliant with the requirement for upper limit of nickel migration as specified in paragraph 1(b) and (c) of entry 27 of Annex XVII to the REACH. REACH is a European Union regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals. However, the REACH is not recognized by the State of California. NOTICE: EnChroma glasses are an optical assistive device for enhancement of color discrimination in persons with color blindness; they are not a cure for color blindness. Results vary depending on the type and extent of color vision deficiency per individual. EnChroma does not endorse the use of the glasses to pass occupational screening tests such as the Ishihara test: these tests may be required in occupations where public safety is at risk such as public transport operators, electricians and first responders. Wearing of any filtering lens including colored contact lenses during test administration is prohibited and may invalidate the accuracy of the results.
Really makes reds pop! Helps with greens somewhat
Got these for my partner for her birthday and she loves them. They fit well over her glasses and she loves the sturdy case they came with. We hope that someday enchroma could make prescription glasses so she can see color indoors too.
My Spouse purchased a decent pair of Glasses from Amazon, and for the first time ever, I saw most shades, and Hues however, to much Pink/Red. I researched more and stumbled across this website that Strongly Recommended a Strong Protan. Once I received the Cx-3’s? BAM. I was a bit hesitant considering the $300+ Tag, however, once I put them on, I fell asleep the first night with them on my eyes, accidentally! Immediately the next day I went on the town and Holy Cripe, I actually saw FULL Shades, and Hues and didn’t realize how much the color Red Effects nearly every Color! Including Green. I saw grass as just Green grass, but never the Subtleties within and/or on Trees!! I’m a Grown Man over 40, and I had a Plethora of feelings of being Overwhelmed! I have new Lease on my Vision! 20/10 Excellent Vision, no Prescription, just lack the ability to acquire the Depth and True Colors. I was like a kid in a candy store watching the Tracking EVERY day. Expensive, yes. Worth it? Heck yea! I hope to not break mine, however, I would reorder in NY Minute. If I lived in NY… lol
In my photo, without Glasses I saw bland orange of my shirt. With, I see how LOUD orange it is! Those not Color Deficient, Red/Green, Green Red, Blue… It’s worth … priceless imo
