Last month I visited a museum that is participating in EnChroma's accessibility program to try them out. I was quite skeptical, however this offered me the chance to try them out very easily at no additional cost.
This museum was the perfect place to see how the glasses would perform under various lighting conditions, both inside and outside of the museum. I was pleasantly surprised at how much richer and bolder certain colors were. It was a fun challenge for my husband and I to describe what we see and how we interpret the colors of various objects in the galleries. In the end, we agreed that what I was now seeing was remarkably close to what he was seeing with normal color vision.
The frames and lenses are very lightweight and sometimes I forget they're on. They're perfect for indoor activities with ample lighting, or on cloudy/overcast days outside.
This was the first time my son saw color the way it really is. I couldn’t believe how he could see every color so clearly and the emotions it brought on. I wish every person who is colorblind could own these glasses. Unbelievable blessing!!!
So if you're like me you're probably wondering "Do they actually do anything?" The first time I put them on I could tell they made a difference, but not a huge one, but the more I wear them, I notice a bigger difference bit by bit. It's definitely not the influence "Wooooow I can see COLORS now!" But it definitely affects the color. The best way I can describe them is that they make everything a "cool blue" color instead of the yellow tint that I saw before, that I didn't even notice. All in all, definitely worth the money.
The yellow tone has disappeared and things look more colorful
I purchased these for my son. For the first time he could see the brightness of colors. He kept exclaiming “oh wow” with every thing he saw. He didn’t realize how bright flowers, stop lights, clothes, balloons and so many other things are. Highly recommend these glasses!
